Getting to the last of the Ireland pics. These last several were taken towards the end of my Ireland trip. I decided to climb yet another hill to see some ancient burial grounds. What the short hike really turned out to be however was some kind of sheep heaven. Despite not seeing a soul around, these sheep seemed totally comfortable around me as I walked by. Most in fact glared at me. So I took a picture.

180 degrees
Climbing my last hill/mountain I was lucky to have the cloud cover break for moments at a time. The following two are examples of those lucky moments when the sun streaks through and warms the surrounding hillside. The first is looking out towards the setting sun, the second is the hillside that caught some sun. You can see how dark the sky would have been otherwise.

The life
I was walking up the grassy hill pictured earlier when I saw these two ladies enjoying the view. Something about the way their hair was blowing and the way they were standing reminded me of an advertisement for something. I could even see it in B+W.

Green
For all those that may complain, there are nice things that happen when it rains.

Ireland coast
Just got back from a trip up the coast. As I drove along the ocean, a lot of the scenery reminded me of what I saw in Ireland. The colours, the smells, the sounds. It's hard to beat ocean air, great company and an open schedule.

Road to nowhere
As I started the first leg of my trip in Ireland, after dipping through hills and skirting the coast I came to a curious area where everything flattened out and the sky disappeared. After stopping my car, I looked forward and backwards and the view was identical.
I think this is the one looking back.

Nobody home
Belfast was my first city stop on my short tour of northern Ireland. I'm assuming that Sunday church had something to do with the entire city being a barren wasteland. I found it somewhat comforting as I walked around the city, quite often meeting the same people many times. If you're walking around on a Sunday morning in Belfast, odds are you are a tourist. The people you keep seeing? Also tourists.

Sunset Northen Ireland
One of the views near the Carrick-a-rede bridge in Northern Ireland. I got there late after a whole day of driving the coast and stopping too often to take pictures. The sun was setting when I left to find a place to stay the night.

Baby it's cold outside
50mm@iso100 f8 1/100s
Given that most of everything in Toronto right now is white with snow, one would think that one could never have, "too much green", but after browsing my photos from a recent trip to Ireland, I batch converted most of them to BW. It rains so often there that everything seems to be green. The overcast skies in particular didn't help. On the day of this picture however, things cleared up quite a bit and instead of flat green I saw the blue of the sky, yellows in the highlights and deeper greens in the shadows. Part of the reason why this one slipped past the BW conversion guillotine

Starting Fresh
So here I go again. Another blog, another purpose. This time to make me less lazy and more inspired. I really should start with my pictures from Japan, but that would probably mean that this site never gets up, so I'll start with Ireland, and I'll throw in random images as I see fit. Hopefully, this will become something I update several times a week.
